In order to save the European banking system and economy from collapse, it is vital to find an alternative to the current American-dominated rating system. We suggest using the internal bank ratings that were created in compliance with Basel 2. This can be implemented in a timely and cost-efficient fashion under the auspices of the ECB and national banking supervisors.
